C.A. Jacobs Valentin Angel Places 3rd at Tournament of Champions

Cougar wrestler medals at state's toughest tournament. Finishes season with only one loss

Eighth grader Valentin Angel of C.A. Jacobs Middle School placed third at 168 lbs. in the 2013 Tournament of Champions at Del Oro High School in Loomis on Saturday. Valentin suffered his only loss of the season in the semi-finals match but then went on to win two more matches to bring home the bronze medal. He finished the middle school season with a record of 26-1.

The TOC is generally considered the toughest middle school tournament in the state and is limited to those who qualify at specific tournaments during the season, usually by winning or taking second. C.A. Jacobs also had two other wrestlers qualify for the prestigious tournament, Tyler Boston at 100 lbs. and Angel Figueroa at 108 lbs. Both wrestled very well at the TOC but were unable to enter the medal rounds.

C.A. Jacobs wraps up a great season and is looking forward to a very successful 2013-2014 season. Off-season wrestling will be conducted through the Dixon Wrestling Club.
