Celebrate Dr. Seuss Birthday at Sac Library

Take Your Children to See Stuart Little

This week, our 'Mother of All Deals' crew scoured our local sources to come up with these values--from Kindergarten registration to a Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration. Have fun and let us know where else there might be a fun and inexpensive source for entertainment for your children.

 

1. FREE Kindergarten Readiness Registration Packets available Tuesday, March 1 –Thursday, March 10, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at these school sites:  Anderson Elementary, 415 East C Street; Tremont elementary, 355 Pheasant Run Drive; and Gretchen Higgins Elementary, 1525 Pembroke Way. 2. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss Read-a-thon and Party -  Thursday, March 3, 4 – 5:15 p.m. at the North Highlands-Antelope Library and also at South Natomas Library. Cake and refreshments and readings from classics such as ‘Green Eggs & Ham and ‘Cat in the Hat.’ Free. Go to www.saclibrary.org.

3. Craft Time at Big Spoon Yogurt - On the first Thursday of every month, Big Spoon hosts Craft Time—a fun and free way to get creative. All children age six and under will receive a free 4-ounce yogurt creation. The Dixon spot is in the Safeway Plaza, 1160 Pitt School Road; (707) 678-8655 or go to www.bigspoonyogurt.com.

4. Stuart Little by DMTC Performing Arts is slated for March 5 at 2:15 p.m. and through March 27 at 607 Pena Drive in Davis. Don’t miss this classic at the Davis Musical Theater Company –the children will love it! Tickets are $7. For more information, go to www.dmtc.org or call (530) 756-3682.

5. Flyway Nights Lecture Series – Reptiles and Amphibians of the Yolo Basin Wildlife Area at the Yolo Basin Headquarters, 7 p.m. are the first Thursday of the month. Perhaps a little late in the evening for children but great info if they go! A $5.00 donation per person or $10 per family is suggested at the door. Refreshments served.
