1. Dixon’s 48th Annual COC Citizen of the Year Dinner Dance -
Where/When: Denverton Hall, Dixon May Fairgrounds; No host bar, 5 p.m.; dinner 6 p.m.

Why Go: A tribute to the greatest generation big band music will provide ‘A Stardust Night.’ Dinner is catered by Bud’s Pub & Grill. Also announced that evening will be the business of the year, chamber ambassador of the year and veteran of the year. This event helps support the Dixon Chamber of Commerce.

2. Mt. Diablo Dog Agility Trials / Dog Show
Where/When: Dixon May Fairgrounds, 655 South First Street, Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 7, start 7:30 a.m.
Why Go: All day opportunity to learn more about dogs and so interesting to watch all the various breeds while perusing pet supply booths.
Pricing: No admission but may be parking fee

Why Go: After undergoing a 14-year, $22 million restoration and rehabilitation, the Mansion has opened to the public as a museum. Enjoy the splendor and elegance of the Victorian era in California through guided tours only, and witness 17-foot ceilings, restored woodwork, 19thcentury crystal and bronze light fixtures, historic paintings, 19th-century style gardens. It is currently used as California's official reception center for leaders from around the world.

4. SnowFest of North Lake Tahoe/Truckee
Where/When: March 4-13, 2011, North Lake Tahoe/Truckee
Why Go: Ten days of fun events, activities, concerts and celebrations at North Lake Tahoe. Events include fireworks, parades, Dress Up Your Dog, Wacky Winter Bowling, Donut Eating Contest, Polar Bear Swim, Paddle Board Race, Extreme Eating Challenge, Great Ski Race and much more. 5. UC Davis Department of Music: Berlioz: Te Deum
Where/When: Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts; Sunday, March 6, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Music from French Romantic-period composer Hector Belioz. The performance will be the culmination of a collaboration of the University Chorus and Alumni Chorus of UC Davis, the University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Sacramento Children's Chorus, the Pacific Boychoir, the Davis Children's Chorale, and several guests, including tenor soloist Wesley Rogers and organist David Deffner.
