Dixon City Council Hires New City Manager
The Dixon City Council unanimously approved the hiring of the city's next city manager, Jim Lindley.

Dixon has a new city manager.
Last night during a meeting of the , the council unanimously approved the hiring of Jim Lindley, the current city manager for Dunsmuir.
Lindley will begin his post in Dixon as the cityβs chiefΒ executive officer on March. 12, 2012. The search for Lindley began last year when on May 2, then City Manager Nancy Huston to her staff that she had accepted a job as Solano Countyβs assistant county administrator.

The city appointed Dixon Police Chief Jon Cox as acting city manager when Huston left her position in Dixon and hired a headhunting firm to assist in the search for the next city manager. The city also formed a citizen's committee to screen the applicants and make recommendations to the council.
Lindley comes to the City of Dixon with 15 years or more of local government experience at both the management and executive levels according to a city press statement. He has served as the City of Dunsmuirβs city manager since June 2010.

Lindley has a bachelorβs degree in economics and a masterβs degree with honors in public administration from CSU San Bernardino. He signs a four-year contract with the city and will be responsible for directing a permanent staff of 98 individuals and manage a General Fund of approximately $13.4 million.
Lindley's contract calls for a $126,000 base salary along with a $400 auto allowance and 104 hours of leave time. The contract also contains a severance package of six months of pay and benefits should the city release Lindley without cause.
Lindley's contract will cost the city in total $169,911 which is adusted to $159,796 without a contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System.
