The 8U Dixon Dynamites had another successful season of Winterball where they finished in 3rd place out of 16 teams at the Down and Dirty tournament that was held by the Norcal Softball association on October 19-20.
They started off by taking first place in their division with a 9-1-2 overall record which gave them a #6 seed to start the tournament. In the first game of the tournament they knocked off the #3 seeded Rocklin Crushers. The second game they lost in extra innings to the Cordova Rebels which would have put them in the Championship game and they just came up short. They ended up beating the #4 seed Elk Grove Rebels for 3rd place.
The Dynamites were led by the Pitching of Audrey Graham, Meagan Duarte and Alexa Coyle. These girls really showed great improvement as the season went and it gave the opportunity to show that the Dynamites could beat some really good teams down the stretch.

Last year Dixon Girls Softball only had 1 team of 12 girls that participated in Winterball. This year we had 4 teams with a total of 47 girls that played. They had 1- 8U team, 2- 10U teams and 1 12U team that all competed in the Norcal Softball Association. 1 10U team and the 12U team are still competing in the closing tournament. Overall the girls showed great improvement and there will be a definite carry over into the upcoming spring season which is just around the corner.
