Dixon Welcomes Bikers For The Annual Renegade Rendezvous
Beer, BBQ, bikes and babes highlighted this year's Renegade Rendezvous held Saturday at the Dixon May Fair Grounds
It's the one day Dixon turns into biker heaven.
This year's Renegade Rendezvous was filled with something for everyone. I have been to a few biker meet-ups but I have to say Renegade Rendezvous is definitely not like most of them.
The average meet-up has more nudity than a Playboy magazine.Β Renegade Rendezvous is an event you can bring the kids to without problem.Β There are girls and they are dressed in bikini's or lingerie, but that is all of the skin you will see.
Next to the girls this Renegade Rendezvous was about custom bikes and some of the nicest tattoos I have seen, and I have seen quite a few. The custom bikes on display for the bike-building contest were absolutely amazing, my photographic eye was drawn to a purple beauty.Β With awesome detail in the paint and engine that fit the bike like a glove.
Many vendors came out to sell there wares. Besides all of the biker gear a lot of clothing companies came out.Β One of the companies that stood out was 5150 Clothing Co.Β The reason that they stood out from the rest was not only the great t-shirt designs, but also one of the partners in this business is Jarrod Cooper a former Raiders player.Β He played for the Raiders from 2004 till 2008.
The tattoo contest has always been one of my favorites, although this was properly one of the most loosely ran contests.Β The judges were not introduced to us so I can't really tell you anything about them. But from my perspective it looked like two tattoo artists and two random people judging.Β Now you have to understand that a tattoo artists takes these contests very serious. Normally the tattoos would be judged on things like artistry and lines work, the finer the lines the better in most cases.

In this case it was more general like or dislike that was judged.Β I must say that I agree with most of the winning tattoos. The winner for "Most Unusual," for instance, was an really good piece by Mike of Royal Touch Tattoo & Piercing.Β The tattoo itself was a zipper opened up with candy falling out(see pictures).
Our local shop brought home a second place in the black and white category it was a very intricate tiger design by Greg.
My stomach was very happy to see some of the BBQ, we had tasted some of them already because they came out for Β We tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was great.Β We listened to the music of Riff/Raff while eating our food.

Riff/Raff was performing on the Leber Garden Stage, Riff/Raff is a AC/DC cover band.Β And they rock, all of the fan favorites passed the lips of the singer Mike Barnes.
The lead guitar playerΒ Dave Chapman does his counter part Angus Young proud when he struts accross the stage like I thought only Angus, the lead singer of AC/DC, could.Β We can't forget Steve Wittig on drums, Jeff Leveroni on Fender bass guitar and Devine Lorenger on guitar.Β This band rocks in every sense of the word.Β Their music was enjoyed by everyone there in the beer garden.
Whether or not you are a biker, it's a lifestyle that you don't need to own a bike for, this Renegade Rendezvous was a fun day out for everyone.Β Even if I am not covering this event next year for Patch I will definitely be there again hanging out with the bikers and the babes.....
Renegade Rendezvous was made possible by Buckhorn Bar & Grill, Iron Steed Harley Davidson in Vacaville and Jackson Rancheria Casino.
