Dixon Patch Viewfinder: Some of the Home-Grown Crafts to be Found at the Cottage Exchange

Store is a gem waiting to be discovered

Many have passed by the Cottage Exchange at 116 N. First St. in downtown Dixon without really knowing what's inside. Now celebrating two years in business, owner Phyllis Garcia and her son sell crafts created by area artists and craftspeople. If you're looking for a unique, inexpensive gift, this is a great place to start. Β

The photos here hint at the broad array of crafts on display. The photo captions list the craftspeople who created them and where they live.

Garcia chose the name Cottage Exchange because of the term "Cottage Industry" and also because their logo is picture of a cottage colored in by her granddaughter Mikayla, in school. Mikayla also serves as a model in one of the photos.
