Dixon Temporary Drought Restrictions Adopted via Urgency Ordinance
No outdoor water runoff allowed, plus cut indoor usage by 10 percent.

Announcement from the City of Dixon:
These temporary drought restriction measures have been implemented within the City of Dixon water service system area via Urgency Ordinance 14-012 in response to emergency regulations adopted by the State Water Resources Control Board.
The measures prohibit , for all users of the City of Dixon water service system, the use of potable water for the following:

- Outdoor landscapes in a manner that causes runoff onto adjacent property, non-irrigated areas or hardscapes
- Washing of a motor vehicle, except where the hose is fitted with a device attached to it that causes it to cease dispensing water immediately when not in use
- Application of potable water to driveways and sidewalks, except where necessary to address an immediate health and safety need or to comply with a term or condition in a permit issued by a state or federal agency
- Use in a fountain or other decorative water feature, except where the water is part of a recirculation system
The measures also require users of the City of Dixon water service system to reduce water use by at least ten percent (10%) for those who have service connected to both irrigation and indoor use, and at least twenty percent (20%) for those who have service connected to irrigation use only as compared to usage during the same period in 2013.
