Dixon Weekend Planner July 1-4

Are you looking for something nearby to do this Fourth of July weekend? Check out some of the things on the Dixon Calendar and see if there's something for you.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

The three day 2nd annual  Blues Festival opens on Friday night at the Creekwalk with blues musician, Brad Wilson. The next two days, the music moves over to Town Square with more live music playing from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Bands include the Used Blues Band, Jeff Watson, Sargant Tucker, The Loose Blues Band, the Charlie Wade Blues Band, Raymond Victor, Dante & The Blues Inferno, Uncorked Blues Band, and the Delta Rockets. Saturday's headline band is the Matty T Band at 7 p.m. while Shane Dwight closes the festival on Sunday. C'mon over and check out this incredible lineup!

If you go: This free event is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Andrews Park at Creekwalk off Monte Vista Ave. in Vacaville.

Davis Musical Theatre Company presents Peter Pan and like its namesake, this tale that never ages. Join Peter, the Lost Boys, and Tinkerbell as they battle Captain Hook and his men in Neverland. Fun for the whole family!

If you go: Tickets are between $9 and $18 and can be bought by clicking here. The show continues until July 10th at the Davis Musical Theatre Company Performing Arts Center, 607 Pena Drive in Davis.

 

Monday

Join friends, neighbors and family for a day filled with activities, food booths from local non profits, live music, a motorcycle and car show, demolition derby and of course, the fireworks finale! All proceeds benefit various non-profits in the Solano County area. Fireworks donated by the Dixon Rotary Club will begin around 9:30 p.m. See you there.

If you go: Gate admission is free, Demolition Derby Tickets are $15 for General Admission, $30 Box Seat tickets (minimum 4 tickets per purchase). The celebration is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the fireworks display set to begin around 9:30 p.m. at the , 655 South First Street in Dixon.

Monday

The Davis Little League will host its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast this morning. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door and Little Leaguers in uniform eat for free. Little League exhibition games will be held at the Davis Little League complex at Covell Boulevard and F Street. The T-Ball game begins at 1:00 p.m. The Farm teams play at 11:00 a.m. and AA level exhibition games will be played at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The AAA game will be played at 10:00 a.m. and the Majors exhibition game will be played at 1:00 p.m.

If you go: Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door and Little Leaguers in uniform eat free. The pancake flipping is between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th Street in Davis.
