Friday-Sunday:

The Rodgers & Hammerstein classic presented by the Davis Musical Theatre Company!  It is 1862 in Siam when an English widow and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, having been summoned by the King to serve as tutor to his many children and wives.  Features such standards as "Hello, Young Lovers," "Shall We Dance?" and "Getting to Know You."

If you go: Tickets for the show are $18 General/$16 Students & Seniors (55 & over) and can be bought here. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8:15 p.m. and Sunday’s matinee begins at 2:15 p.m. at the Davis Musical Theatre Company Performing Arts Center, 607 Pena Drive #10, in Davis. The show ends Oct. 2.

Experience the sights and sounds of Scotland. The Scottish Games will be better than ever with all the pageantry you have come to expect. Enjoy Scottish, Celtic, and Irish folk musicians; bagpipe bands; British gifts, foods, ales, and whiskies; Scottish athletic competitions; Scottish animal and living-history exhibits; Highland dancing and Cape Breton step-dancing; rugby tournament; clan information booths; children's activities; pageantry of the opening and closing ceremonies; and a wee bit more fun for the entire family.

If you go: Admission is $8 - ages 18 to 61, $6 - ages 9 to 17 & 62 and older, Free - kids, ages 8 and younger; and active military with ID card. The event is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at , 655 S 1st Street in Dixon.

 

Saturday and Sunday:

Join other pirates and seafarers for this multicultural Seaport event featuring live entertainment, great music, contests, games, as well as savory food and drinks. Additionally, shop for unusual treasures from around the globe. Visit encampments showcasing pirates, mermaids, zombies, Sinbad and more!

There will also be cannon battles, sword fights and seafaring activities including a re-enactment of the Battle of New Orleans that will be featured on Sunday. Come and help defend the Port against the British attack. Join Andrew Jackson, Captain Jean Lafitte, shopkeepers, Native Americans and Creoles in the battle that saved the City.

If you go: The event is free to the public with a canned food or cash donation to the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services; with a portion of food and beverage sales donated to the A.T. Valdez Foundation. The festival is open from noon to 7 p.m. and takes place at Rio Ramaza Marina RV & Event Park, 10000 Garden Hwy in Sacramento.
