Dixon Woman Killed In Crash At Batavia, Midway Roads

California Highway Patrol says the other driver ran a stop sign at the intersection, causing both cars to overturn.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A Dixon woman died in a car crash Tuesday afternoon, an official with the California Highway Patrol said. The collision between a white Hyundai Elantra and a green Toyota Camry happened at 2:50 p.m. on Batavia Road near Midway Road, CHP Officer David Harvey said in a news release.

A 22-year-old Modesto woman was driving the Hyundai southbound on Batavia when she "failed to stop for the stop sign at Midway Road," Harvey said.

The front of the Hyundai collided with the left side of the Toyota, which was being driven eastbound on Midway by a 77-year-old Dixon woman, the officer said.

"After the collision, both vehicles traveled onto the southeast shoulder, where the Toyota overturned and collided with a tree before coming to rest," Harvey said.

The Dixon woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Her identity will be released by the Solano County Coroner's Office once her family members are properly notified.
