To Dixon's Newest Author, Sonia Huston, With Love!
Family, friends and town folks are loving her children's book, "Fudge," about a misfit-looking kitty.

Written by Mellisa Dockins:
After a lifelong dream, my sister, Sonia Huston of Dixon, aka Super Sonia, has her first book published and it is spreading like wildfire across Dixon, along with the rest of the country.
The name of the book is FUDGE: I love Myself, Just How I Am!

The book is about Sonia’s cat Fudge, which, in fact, was her kitty for many years, and was called home a few years ago to “Kitty Heaven.” That is when Sonia’s goal to finish the book went into overdrive -- she felt she owed it to Fudge to get it done!
Author: “Fudge is a very loving cat, who just happens to have a big belly and a crooked tail that he was born with ... after being bullied ... he fights back with love.”

Sonia, for many years, had been telling everyone how she would get her book published. We, all, including myself, told her she could do it. But did we believe it? Well, to be honest, at times we assumed it was wishful thinking.
But knowing my sister, and all the obstacles she has overcome in her life, she would never give up. And good thing she didn’t, as SHE DID IT.
Her first children’s book is published! I couldn’t be prouder, and am so honored to call her my sister.
“We got our books today and P loves it! The illustrations are amazing, and she’s in love with Fudge!”- Lisa Cuellar.
“I remember seeing you at Starbucks every morning working so hard on this new book! You were so excited! And now the book is finished and the kids love it! Congrats, Sonia! I knew the book was going to be a success!”- Mariana Cuevas
“We wrote letters to an author today!!! Now, she just needs to come pick them up so we can meet her!”- Lisa Colombani, sixth-grade teacher at Tremont Elementary School in Dixon.
Sonia was thrilled to do a book reading in Ms. Colombani’s sixth-grade class. The kids wrote her letters, and loved the book so much that Super Sonia is invited back.
Our mom, brother, nieces and nephews, and myself, (and the list goes on), could not be prouder of Sonia and all of her accomplishments. A lot of people may be discouraged after so many years, and just move onto something else. But my sister has an unheard of drive and determination.
I couldn’t have stayed focused that long. She is one of the strongest people I know.
Sonia’s book is available locally, through myself or Sonia, and details are on the Fudge Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fudge-I-Love-Myself-Just-How-I-Am/281629618643326.
And she secured her first place of business to sell the Fudge books: Thank you to Juanita Luna of Lunas Massage, Tanning & Boutique, at 180 S. First Street in Dixon.
P.S. to Super Sonia: Great job, sister! I am so happy to be sharing this dream coming true for you. I love you, even when we drive each other crazy. And I will always love you and back you -- and help you reach your next goal of meeting Ellen DeGeneres. :)
