Fairfield Police Issue Brief Statement On Today's Shooting

A 36-year-old man was killed, but his identity is not yet released. Officers still on scene at Sousa Court.

Thursday evening announcement from the Fairfield Police Department:

Investigators are still on scene of the officer-involved shooting. The disturbance call was within a residence located in the 2000 block of Sousa Court.

As a result of the shooting, a 36-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is an ongoing, concurrent investigation with the Fairfield Police Department and the Solano County District Attorney’s Office.

Witnesses are being interviewed and family members are in the process of being notified. An additional update will be forthcoming later tonight or early tomorrow.

On 01/15/15 at approximately 0749 hours, police responded to a disturbance call in the 2000 block of Sousa Court. Events unfolded that resulted in an officer involved shooting. No officers were injured during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and there is no threat to the public.
