Free Electronic Waste Recycling Fundraiser

Recycle Your Obsolete or Broken Electronics

Bring your obsolete or broken electronic waste to the Dixon Montessori Charter School at 355 North Almond for a free drive-through drop off fundraiser. Pop the trunk or open the car door and volunteers will unload the electronic waste for you! This event will help save the environment from incorrect disposal of electronic waste items as well as raise funds for the Dixon Montessori Charter School robotics class.

The free electronic waste fundraising event will be Saturday, October 18, 9am – 1pm and 3pm – 4pm at Dixon Montessori Charter School located at 355 North Almond Street, Dixon, CA 95620.

The Dixon Montessori Charter School robotics class was created to help students learn programming and engineering. In it’s first year, the current robotics program is offered to DMCS middle school students in grades 6, 7 and 8. The goal in subsequent years is to extend the course offering to students in the elementary school levels as well, while having the middle school students also serve as mentors to the younger students. Proceeds raised from this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of programmable robotic kits to be used by the robotics class students. The goal is to raise funds to purchase one robot per two students.

The Dixon Montessori Charter School electronic waste recycling fundraiser is sponsored by CEAR, INC , California Electronic Asset Recovery a California state approved electronic waste collector and recycler. (www.cearinc.com)

CEAR will accept: monitors, televisions, desktop and notebook PCs, VCRs, stereo equipment, CD’s, speakers, keyboards, mice, PDAs, digital cameras, zip drives, telephones, cell phones, printers, copiers, laser and multifunction scanners and fax machines, microwaves, small household appliances such as toasters, mixers & blenders, vacuum cleaners with the dust bag removed.

CEAR cannot accept: Large Household Appliances (i.e. refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.)Furniture, Hazardous Household Waste including batteries, car batteries, paint, pesticides, used oil, cleaning supplies, fluorescent light bulbs, water heaters, tires etc.

For optimal security, CEAR INC shreds all computer hard drives at their secure facility which is monitored 24/7 by surveillance cameras.
