Last year Danielle competed in her first year of college rodeo. She competed as an independent. Meaning she wasn't on a school team. She was attending Sacramento City College at the time; which did not have a team. I guess you could say she WAS the team ! She represented her team very well. Not only did she win the 2013 Barrel Racing title for the West Coast Region, but she won the title of Rookie of the Year.
For the 2014 season she will be competing with the West Hills College Rodeo team. For those of you that aren't familiar with Coalinga, here's a little hint. Harris Ranch is located in Coalinga. As you drive down I-5 on your way to Southern California, you can't help but notice the smell from the feed lot. Yep, that's Coalinga. Fortunately for the college kids, the school is located in town and far away from that smell !
This year Danielle will attempt to compete in goat tying as well as barrel racing. This endeavor could be incredible or just down right hilarious ! Only time will tell ! I will be sure to post some videos that's for sure !
In addition to showcasing Danielle's barrel runs (the good, the bad and the ugly) I will also be featuring her fellow team mates as they compete in bull riding, break away roping, team roping, bronc riding, etc !
