Grandma, 2 Kids Safely Escape Home Fire
The blaze was near Vacaville at a modular home on Lewis Road.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – A fire destroyed a modular home in unincorporated Solano County near Vacaville this afternoon, Vacaville Fire Protection District Chief Howard Wood said.
A grandmother and two children safely escaped the home at 6793 Lewis Road, Wood said.
The fire that was reported around 12:35 p.m. started on the front porch of the 24-foot by 30-foot double modular home, Wood said. The cause is under investigation and there were no injuries.

Firefighters had to pull down the ceiling to access flames in the eaves and attic, Wood said.
The residents found alternative housing, Wood said.

Firefighters from Vacaville, Dixon, Travis Air Force Base and the California Medical Facility at Vacaville also responded to the fire.
