Katie Berg Reigns as New May Fair Queen

Quite a large audience attended Wednesday night's May Fair royalty selection, as 2010's winners along with emcee Mayor Jack Batchelor, Jr., handed out tons of trophies. At the end, the Royal Court was announced from a field of 10 candidates.

Katie Berg, a senior at Vacaville High School who plans to attend U.C. Davis, was selected as Queen, followed by Alexandria Atkinson of Dixon as Princess, Madison Lowrie of Dixon as Junior Princess, and 10-year-old Ashley Cooper of Dixon as Little Miss.

The selection process included creating posters, submitting photos, horse mastership and interviews.

Queen Katie Berg had also participated in last year's contest. One of the high points in her reign will be appearing in the May Fair parade on Saturday. Unfortunately, she was suffering from a bad cold and hoarse voice Wednesday evening, but that didn't stop her from putting her best foot forward. 

Berg is showing a sheep at the fair this year, and earlier showed her quarter horse, "Snowy Rivers Playboy."
