Man Arrested For Break-In After Stand-Off With Dixon Cops
The suspect is accused of burglarizing his neighbor's home, then using a butcher's knife to keep police at bay for three hours.

DIXON, CA – A Dixon man, accused of a home burglary at his next-door neighbor's, was arrested Sunday afternoon after a three-hour stand-off with police that involved a butcher's knife, according to officials.
Officers responded to a break-in that reportedly just occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. on the 700 block of Walnut Park Drive in Dixon, the Dixon Police Department said.
Witnesses identified the suspect, Shayne Allen Pryde, 42, who allegedly "forced entry" into a home then fled to his residence next door, police said.

When contacted, Pryde reportedly challenged officers with a butcher's knife and barricaded himself for three hours inside his house, refusing officers' commands while threatening them with the knife, the department said.
Pryde eventually was taken into custody, with the aid of a Solano County Sheriff’s K-9 officer, and booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, felony vandalism and resisting arrest.

Dixon police thanked the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol, agencies that assisted at the scene, and apologized to residents who were disrupted during the incident.
