VACAVILLE, CA — A man who was found dead in a Solano Irrigation District canal in Vacaville Thursday morning appears to have drowned, a police lieutenant said.
The man between 20 and 40 years old was wearing a T-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes, and there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, Lt. Matt Lydon said.
Vacaville police were notified around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after a Solano Irrigation District employee found the body. Lydon said the man possibly became trapped by a gate to trap debris across the width of the canal.
