Next Season’s Hottest Book Trends

 

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with the top book publishers to learn about their favorite up and coming titles for Winter 2014. I am excited to share with you what they are.

Abrams Publishing is excited to release its fun and charismatic read:

Welcome, Caller, This is Chloe – When “it” girl Chloe finds herself suddenly on the opposite side of the “in” crowd, the only place she can find refuge is with the schools radio station. Her call-in show suddenly brings to her life a bit of trouble and maybe even a little love. Turning her life in a whole new direction.

Abrams also invites you to unravel the mysteries of wonderland through the continuation of their Splintered series with the e-novella, The Moth in the Mirror, as well as the second in the series: Unhinged- Where diving down the rabbit hole leads you into a dark and sinister spin on the classic,  Alice in Wonderland.

 

From Penguin Publishing, two titles instantly grabbed my attention. The cover art of: 

The Inventors Secret instantly grabs reader’s attention, pulling you into a story of revolutionaries, treason and a fight that could kill them all.

 While the international sensation- Bad Half, is a gripping survival story of a male witch born of the world’s most terrifying and violent witches, and his need to escape those who have captured him. While on a search for the man who bears the three gifts that will finally bring forth his rightful magical powers.

With one of the most beautiful covers Macmillan Publishers brings:

 The Winners Curse-A story of a young girl whose passion is music, but is forced to choose between joining he military or getting married. However, more is at stake when love, secrets, games, slaves and spies are intertwined.

Random House blows readers away with the cover of : The Mark of the Dragonfly, with iridescent wings that look like they could practically lift of the front cover.

Be swept away with Simon and Schuster’s:

 To All the boys I've loved Before – Laura Jean secretly wrote letters to all the boys she’s loved and kept them sealed safe under her bed, until the day she realizes that the box of letters was mailed.  Ultimately, resulting in each boy needing to confront her about the letters, making her deal with each past love all over again.

Harper Collins brings us the gorgeous: Cruel Beauty- based on the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. Ashes to Ashes-  a tragic accident, a ghost world, wandering spirits and the lengths one will go to save her loved ones left on Earth.  

As well as Uninvited- the book that asks the question, Can you let others define who you will be?

What was described as “Pretty Little Liars meets the Breakfast Club,” Houghton Mifflin Harcourt brings  the mystery- thriller book: Cold Calls

While we finish up with Liv, Forever : by SOHO Teen. A murdered girl, a dark conspiracy, and dark secrets hidden within the walls of the private academy, Wickham Hall.
