One In Custody, Another Escapes After Credit Union Robbery In Fairfield

Two schools were locked down during the Friday morning incident.

One person is in custody and a second is at large following the robbery of the Solano First Credit Union Friday morning, a police sergeant said.

The 10:18 a.m. robbery at the credit union in the 1000 block of Union Avenue prompted a 2-hour search and lockdown of nearby Armijo High School at 824 Washington Street and at Holy Spirit Elementary School further away at 1050 N. Texas St., police Sgt. Jeff Osgood said.

One of two occupants of a vehicle seen leaving the robbery scene was taken into custody and the other fled by hopping over fences, Osgood said.
