Phirehouse Philharmonics to Play Again

Jazz music set for sweethearts at Vet's Hall

I don’t mind that it’s their fourth ‘Farewell.’ The Dixon Phirehouse Philharmonics can come out of retirement regularly for all I care because if you’ve heard this group, you’ll go back into a better time in history when jazz was king. That’s great enough for me.

Besides, these folks love to play and we want them to. Pretty good equation in my sight, so if you’d like to hear them again, the long-time Dixon musicians and singers will be giving a concert at the this Friday, February 11.

There will be a social hour starting at 6 p.m. and a prime rib dinner afterwards at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $25 which also includes soft drinks or coffee plus dessert. They are available Monday through Saturday at the Dixon Veteran’s Hall, 1305 North First Street, 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. or by calling John Darby at (707) 678-2839 or Bob Fletcher at (707) 678-5155.
