Photos of the Pinball Machine Extravaganza (at the Fairgrounds)
Pin-a-Go-Go brings business to Dixon.
For the 17th straight year, Dixon's popular pinball machine convention (Pin-a-Go-Go) rolled into the fairgrounds last weekend. I was told attendance was even better this year. The bewitching game machines occupied two buildings. For one entrance fee, attendees got to play them to their hearts' delight -- no quarters required.
Enter one of the buildings and the overwhelming sounds make you think you're in a vast slot machine room in Vegas or at Cache Creek Casino. For some reason there seemed to be a lot of tall white guys in attendance, but there were also plenty of kids, women, and serious pinball geeks ....
.... As you will see in these photos I grabbed with my cameraphone while volunteering there for the Teen Center. A woman visitor told me: "It's great this year. We were excited to see so many machines!"
