Rams' Lane Wins GEL Wrestling Title, Athlete of Week honors
Halverson, Oropez also capture individual league mat championships for Dixon
Senior Reilly Lane won the Golden Empire League wrestling title at 119 pounds Saturday to earn Dixon Patch Athlete of the Week honors.
Two other Rams came away with individual crowns in action at Capital Christian in Sacramento. Senior Clemente Oropez pinned three opponents to capture the 189 division championship. Sophomore Dustin Halverson pinned two foes and earned one decision to capture top honors at 160 pounds.
Lane won two matches by pin, then won by technical fall to claim the 119 championship and earn the GEL coaches' award for his effort in the league meet.

Dixon will compete in Summerville Saturday at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V meet.
