SWAT Deployed In Nearby Fairfield For Barricaded Suspect

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – Fairfield police called a SWAT team into a residential neighborhood Wednesday evening while arresting a man wanted on a felony warrant.

Officers were conducting a probation search in the 2700 block of Applewood Drive when 32-year-old Anthony Grande of Pittsburg fled from the scene and barricaded himself in a nearby home.

Police found that Grande was wanted on a felony warrant out of Contra Costa County. Officers did not know whether Grande was armed, but knew that he had carried guns in the past, police said.

Fairfield police officers called in the department's SWAT team to bring Grande out of the house and arrest him.

"Based on this information, the Fairfield Police SWAT Team was called to the scene to bring the suspect out of the house and safely arrest him," police said.

At about 7:45 p.m., the SWAT team used a loud, diversionary device while making announcements to Grande into the house, police said.

Grande walked out of the house and was arrested without incident.

He was booked into jail for the outstanding warrant.
