Small Plane Crashes Near Vacaville Homes

Breaking: The plane went down immediately after takeoff from the Nut Tree Airport, a Vacaville city official said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- The pilot in a plane crash Friday morning in a Vacaville field walked away with very minor injuries, the Vacaville Fire Department reported.

Personnel with the Vacaville fire and police departments responded to the plane crash reported about 8:20 a.m. in the 400 block of Epic Street in the North Village area.

The small plane went down in a field immediately after takeoff from the Nut Tree Airport, City of Vacaville spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said.

The plane landed close to the North Village housing development, according to Mazzaferro.

The male pilot refused medical treatment.

"Luckily, the pilot was able to walk away with very minor injuries," officials with the Vacaville Fire Department stated in a Facebook post containing photos from the crash scene.
