Solano County: Man Dies in 1-Vehicle Crash

The CHP says the driver's truck went airborne and hit a roadside drainage canal.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A 75-year-old man died in a crash in unincorporated Solano County west of Dixon on the evening of Dec. 14, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly before 8 p.m. at Meridian and Sweeney roads.

The victim, identified as George Bristol, was a resident of Pescadero, in San Mateo County. He was traveling north on Meridian Road in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma when he failed to navigate a left-hand curve in the roadway, CHP officials said.

The truck went airborne and hit a roadside drainage canal. The driver, the lone occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
