Two Men Booked Into Solano Co. Jail For Marijuana Operation After Deputies Respond To Domestic Violence Call

A domestic violence call Tuesday lead to the arrests of two men on suspicion of growing marijuana for sale and manufacturing honey oil, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.

A female caller contacted the sheriff’s dispatch center around 11 p.m. Tuesday to report she was a victim of domestic violence at a residence in the 500 block of Benicia Road in an unincorporated part of Vallejo, sheriff’s deputy Darryl Snedeker said.

The woman left before deputies arrived, but responding deputies found several marijuana plants growing in the residence, Snedeker said. Two male residents were detained and detectives from the sheriff’s methamphetamine enforcement team arrived to investigate, Snedeker said.

Detectives served a warrant at 3:30 a.m. today and found 95 marijuana plants with a street value of $285,000, a sophisticated butane honey oil conversion lab, two ounces of honey oil and three handguns, Snedeker said. Mitchell Kvaal, 23, and Mario Vecchio, both of Vallejo, were arrested for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, manufacturing honey oil, and being armed while committing a drug offense, Snedeker said.

The men were booked in the Solano County Jail and posted bail. Sheriff’s deputies later learned the female caller who reported the domestic violence incident went to her mother’s house after calling the sheriff’s office, Snedeker said.

Deputies later contacted her and took a report about the domestic violence incident, Snedeker said.
