Vacaville Police SWAT Team Descends On Suspected Drug House

BREAKING: Loud noises were reported Friday morning as the heavy police activity took place. A police lieutenant explains in a video. [WATCH]

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Police in Vacaville detained five people Friday morning as the police department's SWAT team served a "high-risk drug search warrant." The heavy police activity in the 1200 block of Marshall Road took place sometime around 7 or 7:30 a.m. and involved SWAT officers deploying "flash bang diversionary devices and chemical agents," Vacaville police said in a statement on Facebook.

Residents of Marshall Road — off of Peabody Road south of Costco — and the surrounding areas likely heard loud noises as a result, police said.

One Twitter user confirmed hearing what she thought might be gun fire.

Vacaville police Lt. Mark Donaldson explained in a video posted to the Vacaville Police Department Facebook page that the SWAT activity was the culmination of a two-month investigation into reports of drug sales from a home in the neighborhood.

Vacaville police said at about 8 a.m. that the situation had been contained and there was "no threat to the community." The department's VICE Unit remained on scene conducting a search of the property, police said.
