Vacaville 'Timm Fire' Threatens Structures, Chars 96 Acres
BREAKING: Monday evening, the fire was 95-percent contained.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA β Crews battled at least two fires Monday in Solano County β one near Fairfield and the other north of Vacaville. The largest blaze, the Timm Fire in Vacaville, was reported at 9:23 a.m. Monday in the English Hills area, near Timm Road and Peaceful Glen Road, according to the Vacaville Fire Protection District and the Solano County Office of Emergency Management. In a 6:17 p.m. update, Cal Fire officials said the blaze was 96 acres and 95-percent contained.
Fueled by 30 mph northerly winds, the fire threatened homes as it burned through oak trees and grass β quickly growing to 40 acres in size by 11:30 a.m. Smoke limited visibility in some areas to 10 feet, said Vacaville Fire Protection District Capt. Doug Rogers. Residents north of Olivas Lane were evacuated, with an evacuation center set up by the Solano OES at Ulatis Community Center, 1000 Ulatis Drive, in Vacaville.
Monday afternoon, one outbuilding had been destroyed, according to Rogers. Ten mutual aid fire agencies from Solano and Yolo counties also responded. Cal Fire is investigating the cause of the blaze, he said.
