
The City of Dixon is currently accepting volunteer applications. There are many opportunities for citizens interested in volunteering their time; from office/clerical work to landscaping and maintenance; just to name a few. The following opportunities are immediately available:
The Engineering Department has a need for a volunteer to assist with a department filing project and simple data entry related to this filing project.
The Parks & Building Maintenance Division has a need for volunteers ssist with light maintenance duties including litter abatement, graffiti abatement, edging turf, and other light maintenance duties.

The Transit Division has a need for volunteers to assist with washing busses at the Municipal Service Center. This opportunity will require a commitment of five (5) hours per month on an ongoing basis.
Generally, these volunteer opportunities require a 6 month time commitment as program participants may require training. Most volunteer applicants must be at least 18 years of age (some positions require a minimum age of 16), will be required to fill out the Volunteer Program Application, and submit to a Department of Justice background check prior to placement. We no longer accept court community service appointed referrals.
