On Memorial Day we honor the men and women who have died in the service of this country in wars and conflicts. Everyone is invited to come and place a flag on one of the over 8,000 graves. This is a wonderful opportunity for youth groups to honor our veterans.
If you go: The flags will be placed on the graves between 8 a.m.-10:30 a. m. at the , 5810 Midway Road in Dixon.

Monday:

The community is invited to attend the Memorial Day Ceremony at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery today to honor the American men and women who have died in wars and conflicts.

 If you go: The program starts at 9 a.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road in Dixon.

Memorial Day is an occasion to to honor America's fallen sons and daughters. In addition it is a reminder to each of us that "freedom is not free." Vacaville’s Memorial Day services will be held at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, 522 Elmira Road at 11 a.m., today. Event plans are currently under way as the Vacaville Veterans Memorial Day planning committee works to finalize participants. The host organization for this year’s event is the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7244 and Auxiliary. Local elected officials, veteran’s leadership, members of Travis AFB, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, along with the Vanden High School JROTC group, Vacaville High School Band members, and Fiesta Days Royalty have all been invited to participate in this year’s event at the cemetery.

Monday:

A ceremony will take place in front of  the Solano County Vietnam Veteran's  Memorial this afternoon. A remembrance tribute and re- dedication of the new flagpole will be hosted by the Brotherhood of Vietnam Veterans to pay tribute to our fallen heroes, especially those of the Vietnam War. Join your veterans and community in this heartfelt tribute.

If you go: The tribute begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Vietnams Veteran's Memorial, 650 Merchant St.,in Vacaville.

Fiesta Days are here again! This 54th year of celebration includes a Saturday parade, pageants, car show,pancake breakfast, carnival, kid's fun area, diaper derby, golf tournament, live music by Pop Fiction and other kickin' bands, theater performances, Memorial Day tributes and much more.  For information click here.

Saturday: Garage Sale Fundraiser

This Garage Sale Fundraiser benefits   Competitive Traveling team and the Ramtown Karate Scholarship.  Clothes, books, toys, baby items, a basketball hoop, small outdoor furniture, and much more!
If you go: The sale is from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ramtown Karate, at 680 N. Lincoln Street in Dixon.

Saturday: 

Check out and support Dixon's Farmers' Market.  Buy some fresh veggies and fruit, meet the farmers, and enjoy Spring's bounty. 

If you go: The market is open from 8 a.m.-noon at the Women’s Improvement Club Park in Dixon.
