Choosing to Remain in Distance Learning after Reopening

We have sent a letter to every household in the District asking for families to make a formal decision regarding choosing to stay in Distance Learning. It is also attached to this message today. It is crucial for families that do not want to return their children to in-person instruction to notify us that their choice is Distance Learning. You can notify us by completing the form that is available on the front page of our website or by calling your school office.

Students will automatically be placed in the in-person hybrid model unless families notify us that they want Distance Learning.

Reopening Timeline

This revised timeline was presented to the Governing Board last night and will be given final approval at a Special Governing Board Meeting on Monday, March 8th, at 5:00 P.M. The timeline was revised to meet some of the conditions that have emerged regarding our transition into the red tier and our District calendar.

Thursday, March 18th: Silveyville Preschool, Intensive Learning Center Students, 12th, Maine Prairie and Community Day School

Monday, March 22nd Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten, 1st, 6th, 9th

Thursday, March 25th 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th

Monday, March 29th 5th, 8th, 10th, 11th

Our communication efforts will be intensifying in the coming days and it is crucial that you check your emails, our website, our Facebook page, and listen to the calls that we make home. You can expect near-daily information from both the District and the school sites. The success of our reopening depends on us letting you know the details and you paying attention to them and following them too.

Upcoming events to help you become informed:

• Governing Board Meeting on Monday, March 9th at 5:00 P.M. via Zoom
• Informational Town Hall in English for middle and high school families - Wednesday, March 10th at 6:00 P.M.
• Informational Town Hall in English for elementary school families - Thursday, March 11th at 5:30 P.M.
• Informational Town Hall in Spanish for all grade levels - Wednesday, March 10th at 7:30 P.M.

The Zoom link for the Board Meeting will be posted today and the Town Halls early next week.
