When North Bay Autistic Boy Develops Cancer, His School Bus Driver Steps In
Tamara Cyr launched a GoFundMe for one of her Kelseyville students to help ease burden of the dad's trips to SF to see son in treatment.
Cancer is the number one cause of disease-related death for children, with 40 percent of children suffering from leukemia. This year, one young boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is seeking the communityβs support as he undergoes treatment at UCSF. The boy, Caden Hommer also happens to be on the autism spectrum, and his family is in great need of funds to help support him and his dad who must drive 260 miles round-trip from his home to San Francisco to be with his son during treatment. Because Caden is autistic, his father must be there during treatment.
A GoFundMe page is set up to assist with gas mileage, treatment and other financial needs. (Caden works with Pacific Child & Family Associates to receive autism treatment.)

He is also autistic and cared for by his father, Casey Hommer. He has a younger brother, Gabriel, 5.
Caden has been in UCSF, since being diagnosed. Due to Cadenβs special needs, his father has to be present with him daily. This has caused a severe financial hardship on this family.
There are several trips needed to the Bay area, which is 260 miles roundtrip.
I am Tamara Cyr, Cadenβs school bus driver. I have seen this family enduring this heartbreaking situation.
I am raising funds, to help ease the burden of fuel and transportation costs. They also need a fuel-effecient car.
I want to bless them in this time of need. These funds will go directly towards these costs. Thanks for your time and donations.
There is also an account set up at MendoLake Credit Union, we are accepting $$ there.
If anybody would like to donate a car, please let me know.
Let us be a blessing to Caden and his family!!
Thanks, Tamara
P.S. I need to add that this is a very long recovery, expected time is three years. Thanks for being apart of this miracle for Caden.
