Your Car Can Be in the Dixon May Fair’s Car Show

The Dixon Clasic Car Show is on Saturday, May 11, and your car could be a part of the action. The May Fair is looking for pre-1972 hot rods, classics and customs.

Awards will be given in four categories with a $100 Grand Prize for Best of Show. Entry forms are available online at www.DixonMayFair.com. Here are the details, courtesy of the May Fair:

This year car buffs are in for an afternoon of polished chrome, outrageous paint jobs, cherry finishes and rock n' roll music by The Hot Rods.

Expect to see everything from a flamed '32 Deuce Coupe hot rod to the family '55 Buick in refurbished, pristine condition. Custom cars might be raked, channeled, chopped and may be customized with parts from a variety of automakers, or machined for a custom look. You may even see a "Rat Rod" with their distinctive "put together by anything I could find" look and absence of a slick paint job. 

Car owners wishing to participate should sign up in advance and car clubs are encouraged to enter and arrive together. There are no entry fees and participation includes Fair admission for everyone in the car.  Awards will be given in four categories with a $100 Grand Prize for Best of Show. The 2013 Dixon May Fair will be held May 9-12 and discount tickets will be available for purchase in advance on-line and in the Fair office at 655 South First St., Dixon.
