DUBLIN, CA — Two Dublin Unified employees were named as County Classified Employees of the Year by the Alameda County Office of Education, the district announced. Both employees’ names will be forwarded to the state competition.

Laura Larsen, a health services assistant at Frederiksen Elementary School, was named the ACOE Health and Student Services Classified Employee of the Year. Larsen “consistently goes above and beyond in her position to help the school’s students, staff and community,” according to a district news release. Larsen helped organize site trainings on EpiPens, Narcan, and “Stop the Bleeding.” She also helped the school return to in-person learning during a time of construction.

Head Custodian Sean Adams was recognized as the ACOE Custodial and Maintenance Classified Employee of the Year. Adams reportedly knows every one of Dublin Elementary School’s 800 students. “His positive demeanor brightens everyone's day and his willingness to lend a helping hand to any student or staff member in need is an example to all,” the district said. “The challenges of managing the maintenance needs of an aging school facility are many, but Mr. Adams’ proactive approach has him anticipating and addressing potential issues so classroom environments are safe and functional for students and staff.”
