Missing 8-Year-Old Found In Dublin

An eight-year-old who went missing from Frederiksen Elementary School Monday morning was located by a nearby resident, police said.

DUBLIN, CA — An eight-year-old who went missing from Frederiksen Elementary School at around 10:50 a.m. has been found, according to a press release from Dublin Police Services.

The child, whom police say is autistic and nonverbal, walked away from Frederiksen Elementary School's Special Education Summer Program.

All DPS units, multiple units from surrounding law enforcement agencies, and DUSD personnel conducted an extensive search of the area, DPS said.

At 2:44 p.m. a nearby resident who had seen DPS's social media post spotted the child walking in front of their home about a half mile from Frederiksen. The resident contacted the child and immediately called DPS dispatch.

The child was located safe and in good health, and reunited with his parents, police said.
