Adorable Ducklings Rescued From Dublin Storm Drain

These determined firefighters helped this feathered family get their ducks in a row.

DUBLIN, CA — The Alameda County Fire Department helped rescue nine ducklings trapped in a Dublin storm drain. Fire crews were called to Madden Way and Jenkins Place Wednesday to help the tiny ducklings in distress. Firefighters were able to safely remove all of the babies from the drain and reunite them with their momma, who was anxiously waiting nearby, fire officials said.

The sweet rescue came just weeks after a kitten trapped in a drainage pipe near the San Francisco Outlets in Livermore was saved. Firefighters removed the vertical portion of the pipe and surrounding dirt and tried to coax the little critter using food and a camera phone.

Although firefighters were not able to get the stubborn kitten out right away, the Feral Cat Foundation returned early the next morning and successfully rescued the cat.
