Alameda County Health Officer Updates Vehicle-Based Gathering Order

The updated Order allows for vehicle-based gatherings of up to 400 cars.

The Alameda County Health Officer issued new orders allowing some additional car-based gatherings for live performances and entertainment.

Effective September 14, 2020, Alameda County’s updated Vehicle-Based Gathering Order will permit live performances including entertainment like musical, theatrical and artistic performances, lectures, presentations, movie showings, as well as religious and cultural ceremonies.

The updated Order allows for vehicle-based gatherings of up to 400 cars. Hosts of live performances for more than 200 vehicles are required to submit a Live Performance Plan in advance to Alameda County Public Health Department via email. The plan will include requirements for face coverings, temperature and symptoms screenings, physical distancing and cleaning and sanitization.
