American Idol Contestant Brings Anti-Bullying Message to Tri-Valley Middle Schoolers
Foothill High student Maddy Hudson encouraged students to speak up when they see bullying.

Pleasanton’s own American Idol contestant Maddy Hudson visited Pleasanton Middle School last week to share her anti-bullying message with students. Maddy performed her music for all students during lunch, and spent time with a smaller group of students talking about her personal experience as a victim of bullying when she was in middle school in a different district.

Although Maddy did not attend Pleasanton Middle School herself, she is very popular with the students, and they showered her with cheers, flowers and many requests for photographs and autographs before and after her performance.
Maddy encouraged students to speak up when they see bullying, to consider why bullies do what they do and that all students can support and encourage each other to stop the negative behavior. Maddy’s message is one of hope, encouragement and staying true to your dream.
