Betsy Penson, the General Manager and Marketing Director for Blackhawk Plaza, says the event is co-sponsored by Blackhawk Plaza, , and the Prickly Pear Cantina.

She says that the show wanted to return to the East Bay and hold an audition after they had a strong response to their audition in Brentwood last year. Blackhawk Plaza was selected because of its closer proximity to San Francisco, as well as the beauty of its environment.

The auditions will be held in the rotunda, and tables will be set-up with information to direct prospective contestants.

Additionally, merchants will have special offers available for contestants when they check in, Penson says.

Prospective contestants should bring the completed written portion of the application package to the audition.

The open casting call will be Saturday, Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blackhawk Plaza,  3600 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, in Danville.
