Dublin 'Nature In Our Backyard' Photography Contest Voting Open

DUBLIN, CA — Which one makes your heart skip a beat? A lark sparrow in full flight? Lightning streaking across the sky? A sunstreaked misty morning? A family of raccoons hanging out by the drain?

As part of Dublin Pride Week 2026, the city held its annual “Nature in Our Backyard” photography contest. Residents were asked to submit photos of wildlife or nature taken in Dublin between April 2025 and April 2026. A selection committee narrowed down dozens of submissions into the top ten, and now residents will make the final decision.

The community has until Thursday at 11:59 p.m. to vote for their four favorite photos. The top four vote-getters will receive:

• Gift certificates from the city of Dublin and Mike’s Camera of Dublin
• Certificates of recognition from the Dublin City Council at an upcoming meeting
• A metal print of their photo from Mike’s Camera
• Their photos displayed on the city website and in the lobby of the Dublin Civic Center
