SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon residents will have a chance to see locally made artwork when the city's spring 2026 juried art show, "Illumination," opens Friday at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center. An opening reception and awards ceremony is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. that day, and the exhibition will continue through May 27, according to the city's weekly update.
The exhibition of San Ramon artists centers on the theme of light through a range of different mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, and ceramics. "Illumination is a juried exhibition open to San Ramon Residents of all ages exploring the concept of light — both as a physical phenomenon and as a symbol of clarity, transformation, and revelation," the city said in a statement. "Artists are invited to submit work that investigates how light defines space, reveals truth, or inspires insight."
At Friday's opening reception, guests can see the artwork, meet the artists, and enjoy the awards ceremony. The exhibit will remain on view for free until May 27 on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center.
