Dublin Seeking Next Poet Laureate

DUBLIN, CA — The city of Dublin is accepting applications for its next Poet Laureate, who will serve a two-year term from Jan. 1, 2027 to Dec. 31, 2028. Applications are due by Aug 14, 2026.

The Poet Laureate serves as an advocate for literary arts in Dublin. They also write and read poetry for civic events and ceremonies, display at least one original poem in a city facility each year, and assist with the development of classes and workshops devoted to poetry.

Candidates must be Dublin residents who are at least 18 years old. They must have published poetry or be willing to publish during their term. Affiliation with literary organizations is preferred, but not a requirement.
