1. 40 Dublin Students Named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Dublin families have plenty to celebrate as 40 local students from Dublin High, Emerald High, Quarry Lane, and other schools were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, placing them among the top one percent of U.S. seniors. These students are now in the running for $2,500 National Merit awards and additional scholarships from colleges and employers, recognizing Dublin's strong academic performance.
   

2. Dublin Council Backs Tighter Rules for Firearm Businesses and Indoor Ranges Open Governance (opgov.news) — Dublin's City Council is moving toward stricter rules on firearm retailers and indoor shooting ranges, including larger buffers around schools and other youth-focused places. Councilmembers favor a version of "Option 3" that adds 1,000-foot school separations and ongoing environmental and workplace-safety oversight, directing staff to draft municipal code changes that will go to the Planning Commission before any final vote.
   

3. A Huge Festival Returns to Dublin Saturday With Food, Art and Music on Three Stages Bay Area Telegraph (bayareatelegraph.com) — Dublin's big Splatter festival takes over Emerald Glen Park this Saturday, Sept. 12, with free admission, three music stages, food trucks, and a new morning Color Dash. Expect local student art at The Wave, Tri-Valley wines and craft beer, roaming entertainers, and limited parking, so plan ahead and consider using the city's DublinCAEvent app for schedules and details.
   

4. Major delays hit BART travelers after equipment problem on track (eastbaytimes.com) — BART riders using the Dublin/Pleasanton station faced major delays Wednesday morning after equipment problems limited service on the Blue Line between Dublin/Pleasanton and San Francisco. The Green Line from San Jose to Daly City was also affected, forcing riders to make alternate transfers and endure longer trips. The disruption followed a separate substation fire near Daly City the previous night, though officials say no injuries occurred.
