DUBLIN, CA — Two Dublin residents were displaced after a garage fire broke out in their home early Thursday morning, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.
The fire broke out at around 12:30 a.m. in the garage of a home on the 7900 block of Shady Creek Road in Dublin, ACFD said. The residents were awoken by their dog's barking.
The fire caused extensive damage to the first floor, and extended into the attic, according to ACFD. Photos also show a car on fire.
Firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department conducted a coordinated multi-agency attack that helped prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
The fire came as high temperatures and strong winds are causing elevated fire danger across California. Thousands of residents in the Tri-Valley and across California are without power in order to avoid sparking a wildfire. Shady Creek Road was not affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoffs at the time. No major wildfires have broken out in the East Bay on Thursday as of 1:40 p.m.
