
The Las Positas College Talk Hawks forensics team was ranked the number one Northern California team of both small and large school divisions at the California Community College Forensics Association’s State Championship Tournament held March 16-20 in Woodland Hills, CA. A highlight of the tournament was the top Gold Award won by Katie Johnson and Brandon Rogers for their Duo Interpretation program.
"I'm incredibly thrilled by the team’s success at this tournament. They truly represented Las Positas College well, not only in talent, but also in character," said Janet Brehe Johnson, Las Positas College director of forensics. The speech team won Second Place Sweepstakes in the small school division at the tournament which featured 32 California community college teams. The Talk Hawks will travel to Greenwich, CT for the Phi Rho Pi Community College National Championships, April 10-17.
