Battle Of Bands & Hackathon: A Don't-Miss Day In Tri-Valley
The Tri-Valley Youth Expo 2018, set in Dublin and student-led, is an all-day, fun-fest of tech skills, dance, art and music.

DUBLIN, CA – The 2018 Tri-Valley Youth Expo is a jam-packed, community event on May 19 showcasing the talent and passion of local teens with a 12-hour hackathon and a battle of the bands in Dublin.
The hackathon segment will take place at Dublin High School from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with an accompanying arts segment, the bands extravaganza, plus an arts and dance showcase, at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Lunch and dinner will be provided, and snacks and drinks will be available throughout the event during which participants will work in groups up to four to create projects relating to the environment, social impact or art. At the end of the event, teams will present their projects to judges, who will select three winning teams. Prizes include Arduinos, drones and Oculus Rifts, as well as internships at TechHive and Elliemae, organizers said.

Battle of the Bands, Arts and Dance:
The arts segment will showcase talents of Tri-Valley youth with its battle of the bands and art and dance showcase.
Battle of the bands will feature six to seven rock bands, including Six-Thirty, Grandma’s Cat, Novicain Road, Unpopular Opinion, Charge! and Carpool Tunnel. Songs played will be family-friendly. Prizes will be given for first-, second- and third-place winners.
The art showcase will feature a display of local youth's artwork, along with performances by local dance groups.
In addition, food trucks will be available during the day.
