The Rotary Club of Dublin will host the Dublin Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26, at Emerald Glen Park. It is a family-friendly, untimed 5K run, walk or stroll, and proceeds benefit Bikes for Kids, providing new bicycles to Dublin children.
The event starts at 9:00 a.m. and finishes by 10:30, so families can be home well before Thanksgiving dinner. The course stays on paths inside the park. A short kids' loop runs near the start line, and strollers are welcome. Each participant receives an "I am thankful for..." bib to fill in, and coffee, water and snacks are free at the finish.
"Thanksgiving morning is one of the few times the whole family is home together, and we want to give Dublin a reason to spend it outside with their neighbors," said Chris Hobbs, President of the Rotary Club of Dublin. "Every registration helps put a bike under a Dublin kid. And all you need to do is show up, in whatever shoes you have."
Participants are also invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. A collection bin will be at the registration area.
