Chef Michael Mina Announces Return To The Kitchen
The Bay Area-based restaurateur wants more time to tinker with new dishes.

Bay Area-based chef Michael Mina reportedly has relinquished his role as CEO of the Mina Group to re-focus on creating and cooking in his kitchens.
“Mina, age 47, has said he wanted to spend more time cooking and conceptualizing than managing his 1,800 employees, who work in restaurants located from San Francisco, Mina Group’s headquarters, to Washington,” according to a recent post in Restaurant Business.
In this region, Mina likely is best-known for his popular Michael Mina and Bourbon Steak restaurants in San Francisco, and also as the proprietor of the upscale restaurant and pub at Levi’s Stadium.
